We all know Medicare can be confusing. Turning 65 comes with a lot of questions, options, and decisions that need to be made. You're not in this alone. If you're turning 65 or simply just have questions about Medicare or your current benefits, I'm here for you. Give me a call today!

So, what is the difference between and Medicare Supplement and a Medicare Advantage plan? While there are several differences we are going to touch on the most important things to pay attention to. Remember, if you have any questions about Medicare in Tennessee, Virginia, or North Carolina that is what I'm here for.

Starting with Original Medicare, this is going to consist of Part A: hosptial coverage and Part B- medical coverage. Original Medicare is provided by the federal government.

A Medicare Supplement is something you add onto Original Medicare. This can help you pay some of the extra costs that come with Original Medicare. You can also add on a Part D plan if you have original Medicare, this is going to help cover the costs of your prescriptions.

Your other option would be choosing a Medicare Advantage plan. You would enroll in a plan via a private company that will consist of:

- Part C (combines Part A & Part B benefits)

- Usually Part D (prescription drug coverage)

- You will also typically see other types of benefits that Original Medicare doesn't cover such as dental, vision, hearing, and gym memberships

No matter what you decide is best for you, it's always important to learn what plans and options you have available to you where you live. If you're curious about your options for Medicare, reach out today!
